Mattress Collection Programs

As of November 1, 2022, mattresses are no longer allowed in the trash. They need to be collected separately for reuse or recycling. If you are here looking for an outlet, your next stop should be your municipality’s website. We recommend the following search term:

“[your City/Town], MA mattress collection”

“[your City/Town], MA trash and recycling”

So far, we know that over 230 municipalities have recycling collection programs! If you cannot find information on your city/town’s website, call them. If your municipality does not have a collection program, you will need to call a private junk hauler to take the mattress. Beyond the Bin provides listings of some junk haulers in MA. If you are aware of one that is not listed, please encourage them to add a listing! Teamwork makes the dream work.
